A.     Move that the minutes of the May 15, 2007 Town Council meeting be approved, as recorded.

VI.           Licenses and Permits: To consider and act upon the following matters:      

A.     Consider approving two (2) 1-Day Beer and Wine Licenses for Thongkhoun Pathana, d/b/a “Laotian Community Center of Rhode Island, Inc., 88 Limerock Road for an event to take place at the Buddist Temple on June 16-17, 2007, pending compliance with all state regulations and local ordinances and restrictions set forth through an agreement between the Laotian Community Center and the Town of Smithfield.

B.     Consider approving a Special Event License for Buounthanah of Rhode Island, Inc., 88 Limerock Road, for an event that will take place at the Buddhist Temple, 88 Limerock Road on June 16-17, 2007, pending compliance with all state regulations and local ordinances and restrictions set forth through an agreement with the Smithfield Police Department, except as it relates to the sale of alcohol.

C.    Consider approving the renewal of a Peddler’s License and Holiday Sales License for Robert Lombardi/N.E. Frozen Lemonade, d/b/a “New England Frozen Lemonade”, to operate their mobile units in the Town of Smithfield for their business located at 280 Douglas Avenue, Providence, pending compliance with all state regulations and local ordinances and submit to police clearance of all drivers.

  VII.     Public Hearings:  To consider and act upon the following matters: None

VIII.    Old Business:  To consider and act upon the following matters:

A. Consider authorizing an RFP for Concession Services for the Smithfield Municipal Ice Rink.

IX.        New Business:  To consider and act upon the following matters:

A.     Claim of Vincent Morelli.

B.     Consider authorizing the Smithfield Fire Department to advertise for a Request for Proposal (RFP) to perform any and all work necessary to correct the issues outlined in the project specifications.

C.    Consider approving a variance for the current ceiling height at Dear Hearts located at 265 Putnam Pike.

D.    Consider approving abatements and addenda as recommended by Tax Assessor:  None

E.     Consider possible appointments to boards or commissions: 

                                                   1.      Ms. Catherine Lynn – Planning Board

                                                   2.      Mr. James Busam – Zoning Board of Review

F.     Consider a possible motion to go into closed session pursuant to Sections 42-46-5(a)(5), real estate, 42-46-5(a)(1), personnel, 42-46-5(a)(2), collective bargaining and litigation Northern RI Private Industry Council v. Town of Smithfield, Town of Smithfield v. Churchill & Banks and 42-46-5(a)(3), security, of the RI General Laws.

G.    Reconvene in open session, if necessary, to announce any closed session votes required to be disclosed pursuant to RI General Laws, Sec. 42-46-4.
