Move that the minutes of the
October 2, 2007 Town Council meeting and closed session be approved, as recorded
and that the closed session minutes be sealed.
VI. Licenses
and Permits: To consider and act upon the following matters:
A.
Consider approving a Special Event
License for the Knights of Columbus, St. Philip Council #11087 to hold a Steak
Fry from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2007, at the St.
Philip Parish Center in Greenville, pending compliance with all state
regulations and local ordinances.
B.
Consider approving a new
Victualling License for MNGC Enterprises, Inc. d/b/a “Jalopies Diner”, to be
located at 9 Cedar Swamp Road in the Town of Smithfield, pending compliance with
all state regulations and local ordinances and subject to final approval from
the Building Official and Health Department.
C.
Consider approving a new
Victualling License for J & P Management, LLC, d/b/a “Bob’s Place” to be located
at 107 Pleasant View Avenue, in the Town of Smithfield, pending compliance with
all state regulations and local ordinances and final approval from the Building
Official and Health Department.
VII. Public
Hearings: To consider and act upon the following matters:
A.
Conduct
a Public Hearing for the issuance of a Revenue Bond Ordinance.
B.
Conduct a Public Hearing on the
CIP Plan.
VIII. Old
Business: To consider and act upon the following matters:
A.
Consider appointing an independent
person or firm to conduct an investigation of Town Council President with regard
to charter violations.
B.
Consider and act upon setting a
Town Council Legislative Goals and Objectives Agenda.
IX. New
Business: To consider and act upon the following matters:
A.
Consider reappointment of Sealer
of Weights and Measures – Leo Labrie
B.
Consider authorizing a bid award
for the sale of Surplus and Obsolete Property pursuant to Town Charter Section
82-9.
C.
Consider authorizing the
Recreation Department to solicit bids for a Security Surveillance System for
Deerfield Park.
D.
Consider discussion on letter from
Catherine Drive residents.
E.
Consider acceptance and authorizes
maintenance of said roads, easements and open spaces proposed from the Laurel
Woods and Conti Estates subdivision projects.
F.
Consider a discussion on the
operating rules for the Town Council.
G.
Consider approving abatements and
addenda as recommended by Tax Assessor: NONE
H.
Consider possible appointments to
boards or commissions: NONE
I.
Consider a possible motion to go
into closed session pursuant to Section 42-46-5(a)(2), Collective Bargaining
and Litigation, Sedona Associates vs. Smithfield Zoning Board, Section 42-46-5
(a)(5), Real Estate, Section 42-46-5(a)(1), Personnel, and Section
42-46-5(a)(3), Security, of the RI General Laws.
J.
Reconvene in open session, if
necessary, to announce any closed session votes required to be disclosed
pursuant to RI General Laws, Sec. 42-46-4.
