VI.      Minutes: 

A.    Move that the minutes of the February 19, 2008 Town Council meeting and closed session be approved, as recorded and that the closed session minutes be sealed.

VII       Licenses and Permits: To consider and act upon the following matters: 

  1. Consider approving the renewal of the following four (4) Weapons Licenses, pending compliance with all state regulations and local ordinances.

    1. James M. Anderson d/b/a “Jim Anderson Gun Shop”, 350 Douglas Pike

    2. Leon W. Collins, d/b/a “Collins Gun Shop”

    3. Joseph F. Schiavulli, Greenlake Drive

    4. Joseph S. Buban, Jr., d/b/a “Sportsman’s Supply”, 22 Williams Road     

    1. Consider approving the renewal of a Victualling License for Daniel J. Dumican d/b/a “Daily Catch Seafood”, 9 Cedar Swamp Road, pending compliance with all state regulations and local ordinances.
       

    2. Consider approving a new Victualling License for 44 Hersha Smithfield, LLC, 945 Douglas Pike, pending compliance with all state regulations and local ordinances and final Health Department and Building Official approval. 

  VIII.     Public Hearings:  To consider and act upon the following matters:

A.   Conduct a Public Hearing for an amendment regarding Senior Citizen, Veterans and Handicapped exemption/fees at Georgiaville Beach, Chapter 263, Article II.

B.   Conduct a Public Hearing on the RIPDES Permit Mandate.

C.   Conduct a Public Hearing for reenactment of Chapter 11-Article 2 – Expedited Approval Process.

IX .    Old Business:  To consider and act upon the following matters:  NONE

 X.      New Business:  To consider and act upon the following matters:

A.      Consider and act upon resolution requesting that the General Assembly enact enabling legislation authorizing the Town of Smithfield to establish a municipal court.

B.      Consider authorizing the purchasing agent to prepare a request for bid proposal for the revision and updating of the Town of Smithfield’s Municipal Code.

C.      Consider approving abatements and addenda as recommended by Tax Assessor:  NONE

D.      Consider possible appointments to boards or commissions:  NONE

E.       Consider a possible motion to go into closed session to review, consider, discuss and act upon the following matters pursuant to Section 42-46-5(a)(2), Collective Bargaining and Litigation, Sedona Associates vs Zoning Board of Review, Section 42-46-5 (a)(5), Real Estate, Section 42-46-5(a)(1), Personnel, of the RI General Laws.

F.       Reconvene in open session, if necessary, to announce any closed session votes required to be disclosed pursuant to RI General Laws, Sec. 42-46-4.
