B.     Consider approving the renewal of a Victualling License and Holiday Sales License for Victoria A. Johnson d/b/a “What’s The Scoop”, 61 Douglas Pike, pending compliance with all state regulations and local ordinances and payment of tangible taxes due the Town of Smithfield.

C.   Consider approving the renewal of two Holiday Sales Licenses pending compliance with all state regulations and local ordinances.

1.             Joseph Accaoui d/b/a “Quickets Convenience Store/Pick Pockets Deli”, 285 George Washington Highway.         

2.             Warren A. Hill d/b/a “Hill Orchards” Sanderson Road and Commerce Street.

D.    Consider approving the renewal of a Bingo License for the following applicant pending compliance with all state regulations and local ordinances:      

1.      Esmond Village Tenants Association, 6 Village Drive (Fee Waived)

VII.    Public Hearings:  To consider and act upon the following matters: 

A.   Conduct a Public Hearing to consider proposed amendments to the Smithfield Code of Ordinances: Chapter 263, Article II, Holiday Business §263-7, Licenses Generally §263-8, Fee; information provided; expiration and §263-9, Short-term License. 

B.   Conduct a Public Hearing to consider proposed amendments to the Smithfield Code of Ordinances: Chapter 268, Peddling and Soliciting, Article I Licensing §268-3 Issuance; term (A) add number (6) and §268-3 Issuance; term (C). 

VIII.     Old Business:  NONE

IX.       New Business:  To consider and act upon the following matters:

A.   Consider authorizing a Work Session to be conducted on June 10, 2008 for an update, discussion and review of the Charter Review Commission’s recommendations.

B.   Consider the adoption of a resolution regarding an Energy Conservation Committee.

C.  Consider the adoption of a resolution regarding a Financial Review Board

D.    Consider the appointment of members to the Energy Conservation Committee:

1.       Mr. Bernard Hawkins, Council Member

2.       Mr. Ron Manni, Council Member

3.       One (1) Conservation Committee Member

4.       Smithfield Residents – Ms. Brenda Amodei, Mr. Burleigh Briggs and other possible residents.

E.   Consider a proposed acceptance of a sewer easement through the Village of Summerfield.

F.    Consider approving abatements and addenda as recommended by Tax Assessor:  NONE

G.   Consider possible appointments to boards or commissions:  NONE

H.   Consider a possible motion to go into closed session to review, consider, discuss and act   upon the following matters pursuant to RIGL Section 42-46-5(a)(2), Collective Bargaining and Litigation,  Sunn Builders vs Town of Smithfield, RIGL Section 42-46-5 (a)(5), Real Estate, Waterman Tavern, RIGL Section 42-46-5(a)(2), Collective Bargaining and Litigation,  Waterman Tavern.

I.      Reconvene in open session, if necessary, to announce any closed session votes required to be  disclosed pursuant to RI General Laws, Sec. 42-46-4.
