and act upon the following matters:
1.
Consider a new Victualling License
for Sophin In d/b/a Lily Garden Restaurant, 566 Putnam Pike, pending compliance
with all state regulations and local ordinances and subject to final approval
from the Smithfield Fire Department, Smithfield Building/Zoning Official, a
signature of owner premises and payment of Tangible taxes due to the Town of
Smithfield in the amount of $1331.84.
2.
Notice of Violation – Lily Garden
Restaurant – Consideration of any other relief or action to be taken by the Town
Council.
3.
Consider approving
three (3) 1-Day Class F1 Liquor Licenses (Full Privilege), and a Carnival
License for the Portuguese American Social & Athletic Club of Georgiaville for
the Annual Holy Ghost Feast to be held on July 27, 28 & 29, 2008
on club grounds located at 32 Fenwood Avenue pending
compliance with all state regulations and
local ordinances and subject to conditions set forth in an agreement
between the Portuguese American Club and the
Smithfield Police Department which addresses
crowd control and the sale, possession and consumption of alcoholic beverages.
Fee waived for Carnival License only.
4.
Consider the approval of a
Solicitation License for Joseph A. Mosley d/b/a “Southwestern Company”,
selling educational books on a house-to house basis during the summer months
pending compliance with all state regulations and local ordinances.
5.
Consider approving
the renewal of three (3) Massage Establishment Licenses as listed, pending
compliance with all state regulations and local ordinances.

Request from Clean Water Action
for waiver from certain restrictions from section 268 of Smithfield Code
including request to solicit until 9:00 p.m.
IX. Public Hearings: To consider and act
upon the following matters:
A.
Consider scheduling a Public
Hearing to consider an appeal from the Preservation Society on the Waterman
Tavern concerning a decision of the Smithfield Code Enforcement Officer (council
sitting as the Building Code Board of Review).
B.
Conduct a Public Hearing to
consider a zone change from R-80 to a PD Zone, Mater Ecclesiae, Plat 44/Lot 14.
X. Old Business: None
XI. New Business: To consider and act
upon the following matters:
A.
Consider a one year bid award for
dental insurance for the Town.
B.
Consider scheduling a public
hearing at the July 8, 2008 Town Council Meeting for a zone change application
for Bruce Bouchard, Plat 47/Lot 20 (125 Burlingame Road) from R-200 to R-80.
C.
Consider a possible motion to go
into closed session to review, consider, discuss and act upon the following
matters pursuant to RIGL 42-46-5(a)(5), Salt Barn, Real Estate, RIGL
42-46-5(a)(1), Personnel.
D.
Reconvene in open session to
announce any closed session votes required to be disclosed pursuant to RI
