that the minutes of the April 21, 2009 Town Council Meeting and closed session
for April 21, 2009 be approved, as recorded and that the closed session minutes
be sealed.
B. Move
that the minutes of the April 22, 2009 Town Council Work Session be approved, as
recorded.
VI. Licenses
and Permits: To consider and act upon the following matters:
A. Consider
approving the renewal of the following two (2) Holiday Sales Licenses as listed,
pending compliance with all State regulations and local ordinances:
1. Ronald
Depault/Depault & Sons Hardware d/b/a “Greenville Hardware”, 633 Putnam Pike.
2. Lucien
A. Joly Jr. d/b/a “Joly’s Lawn Ornaments, 373 Farnum Pike.
B. Consider
approving a Special Event License for Smithfield Elks d/b/a “Smithfield Elks”
for a Bayou ‘n’ Boogie Fest Fundraiser, Two Days Celebrating Culture, to take
place at the Smithfield Elks Lodge #2359, 326 Farnum Pike on Saturday, May 23,
2009 from 12pm to 10:30pm and Sunday, May 24, 2009 from 12pm to 10pm, pending
compliance with all State regulations and local ordinances, and issuance of a
Noise Permit from the Police Department.

a Show Cause Hearing before the Smithfield Town Council, acting as the Board of
License Commissioners, to hear alleged liquor law and other violations at
Joseph’s Pub.

a Public Hearing to consider amendments to the Liquor Control Ordinance.

a Public Hearing to consider amendments to the sewer use ordinance, Code Section
294-17.
D. Conduct
a Public Hearing to consider amending the Comprehensive Plan as recommended by
the Planning Board.
