AGENDA

I. Call to Order and Approval of the Minutes of the April 16th, 2009 Town Traffic Safety Commission Meeting.

II. Old Business:

A. At the request of the Smithfield Town Council, consider making a determination, as to whether the headstones within the cemetery located at the Eisenhower and Nimitz Roads intersection pose a traffic safety hazard and whether additional signage is warranted;

B. Consider a request to amend the name of Burlingame Road to East Burlingame and West Burlingame Roads.

III. New Business:

A. Distribute an updated list of 2008-09 Town Traffic Safety Commission traffic regulations;

B. Consider a request for the Rhode Island Department of Transportation (RIDOT) to designate certain property along Putnam Pike and Austin Avenue as a public parking area;

C. Consider formal correspondence to the State Traffic Commission requesting a traffic light at the Douglas Circle and Austin Avenue intersection;

D. Consider placing “No Thru Trucking” signs on Lisa Ann Circle;

E. Consider placing a stop sign on Ruffstone Road at its intersection with Greenlake Drive;

F. Review correspondence for RIDOT, regarding the authorization of a traffic study at the intersection of George Washington Highway (Route 116) and Harris Road;

G. Consider the following street names in the Ridgeland Hills Plat:

1. Ridgeland Road
2. Crest Circle
