May 5, 2012
The Smithfield Conservation Commission will hold
their Annual Tree Day on Saturday May 5, 2012
from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. or unless the trees
sell out at the Pavilion at Deerfield Park. Please
remember there are no early birds and this event is
for Smithfield residents only. This year the
commission will offer a set of Azalea and Shamrock
Inkberry (a native plant) in pairs at a cost of
$5.00 per pair. As in the past there will be no
mixing or matching.
In addition there will be several local
environmental and school groups as well as the town
recycling coordinator who will be selling composting
bins to the town residents.
This has always been great event for the residents
of Smithfield where you can purchase plants at
40-60% below cost and learn of different ideas to
keep Smithfield beautiful.
