Employment Opportunity: Technology Manager

Technology Manager: Full- time, salaried position with excellent benefits. Under general supervision of the Town Manager, the Technology Manager will be responsible for the development, implementation and continuous management of the Town’s existing and future hardware and software systems, including the development of a website, and the use of current communication strategies to provide high quality computer technology. Also maintains all computer functions. Requirements include: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, two to four years working in IT operations, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Technical knowledge of desktop computing; Programming knowledge is a plus; Knowledge of computer applications on a variety of platforms; Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form; Ability to work effectively with other town employees; Ability to respect and maintain the confidentiality of records, reports and information obtained during the course of employment; Ability to work with vendors and build a network of contacts; Excellent working knowledge of computer systems security network, system administration, databases and data storage systems. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Salary range is: $55,000 – $65,000 (DOQ.) Employment Opportunity: Lifeguards

LIFEGUARDS – Must be non- surf certified and have valid CPR & first aid cards at time of appointment. Beach hours are 10 am – 6 pm, seven days a week from mid -June to Labor Day. A rotating schedule is used. Rate $16/hr. Must possess a valid driver’s license. If you need training- the Smithfield YMCA conducts training. Students completing the lifeguard training program are eligible to apply to the Town of Smithfield beaches and /or YMCA for spring & summer employment.
