Meal Site Coordinator / Cook: Full-time, temporary, hourly, position. Responsibilities include: strict adherence to RI Dept of Health regulations, food preparation, meal site reservations, tracking inventory as well as a variety of administrative, secretarial and clerical tasks providing support to the Director as assigned. This position involves significant public contact. Requires a high school diploma or G.E.D. Must be TIPS certified, CPR certified and food safety certified. Knowledge of Microsoft office. Ability to work nights and / or weekends when necessary. Rate of $15.00 per hour. No benefits due to a temporary position. Maintenance Worker- Smithfield Municipal Ice Rink: Part-time, hourly. Responsibilities include general maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of the rink. Must be able to communicate with the public, work with minimal supervision, and possess general knowledge of cleaning & maintenance. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with skate rentals and concession stand operations. High public interaction. Must be able to work 15 – 20 hours per week including nights and weekends. Rate $10.50 per hour. No benefits. Snow Plow Driver – Smithfield Department of Public Works: Temporary, seasonal position available. This is an on-call position for plowing events on an as-needed basis. Responsibilities include the operation of town-owned plow trucks with manual transmissions. Requires valid RI Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with air brake endorsement; at least three (3) years’ experience plowing snow and snow removal operations; ability to plow and operate a sander for a lengthy duration.     We know it’s cold out, but we’re thinking Lifeguards! Each year the Town is looking for certified lifeguards to work at our local beaches.

    The Smithfield YMCA offers a Certified Lifeguard Course in December – perfect for school break. No guarantees, but this course is an essential part of qualifying for these positions.
