HOURS: The Human Services office is open from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Please call the office prior to your visit.
FUNCTION: Smithfield Human Services is a confidential resource center. It is located in the town of Smithfield and is open to Smithfield residents who qualify under the low income family guidelines. The Smithfield Human Services office works to assist eligible families with food supplements and heating assistance. If you are interested in becoming a donor or are in need of these services please contact the office.
Donations Are Always Needed
The following items are needed to stock the shelves of the food pantry:
Non-perishables such as hot and cold cereals, peanut butter and jelly, pasta, rice, soup, crackers, pasta sauce, tuna fish, and canned goods of any kind will be accepted with valid expiration dates. We also accept toiletries, food gift cards in small denominations and monetary donations.
All donations may be dropped off at the Senior Center between the hours of 9:00am – 3:00pm, or for larger donations you may schedule a pick up date.
Only food with active expiration dates accepted, no expired food items please.
Important Information
Eligibility: Prior to receiving assistance from Smithfield Human Services office all applicants must complete a yearly intake form along with required documentation. Please call the office to schedule an appointment.
Assistance: The Smithfield Human Services office is a small auxiliary pantry that is run off of donations from our generous town residents, schools, businesses and organizations.
Outreach/Donations: The Smithfield Human Services office may act as a liaison and refer applicants to other programs to accommodate additional needs. Our goal is to assist those families who are struggling by advocating for food supplements and basic needs throughout the year and heating fuel throughout the winter.
