RIDOT Paving in Smithfield in October

The Rhode Island Department of Transportation will be milling and paving two (2) sections of roads affecting Smithfield.
 
1. Jenckes Hill Road pavement surface will be milled this week (10/7 through 10/11) from Route 246, in Lincoln, to the North Central Airport. This will affect Smithfield residents along a short length of Jenckes Hill Road from the Lincoln town line to the North Central Airport. Re-Paving of this section is expected to start around 10/20/2019, weather permitting. Work times have been issued as occurring between 9 PM to 6 AM during the specified dates.
 
2. Greenville Avenue pavement surface in Smithfield and Johnston is expected to be milled starting Friday, 10/11/19 and continue through Tuesday, 10/15/19. Work limits have been listed along Greenville Avenue between Sanderson Road (Route 5) to Hillcrest Avenue, Smithfield. Work hours are listed from 8 AM to 4 PM during the specified dates. Re-Paving of this section is expected to start during the week of 10/21/2019, weather permitting.
 
Both projects are expected to be complete on or before 10/31/2019. Residents and motorists should expect delays and are advised to seek alternate routes during the duration of work.
