Second Annual Women’s History Month Event Taking Place in Smithfield

Women living and/or working in Smithfield are invited to attend a celebration of Women’s History Month taking place on Monday, March 25, 2019 from 5:30 -7:30 p.m. at Laura’s Bar and Grill at 945 Douglas Pike in Smithfield. The business casual after-hours networking event is hosted by Smithfield Town Council President Suzy Alba and restaurant owner Laura Dunlea.

“Women’s History Month is a historical celebration and remembrance of women’s contributions to society and we are excited to once again bring together women in business, teachers, local government and nonprofit leaders, and many other local women making unique contributions to our community”, said Suzy Alba. “The event was an overwhelming success last year with more than 70 attendees, and we hope for an even greater turnout this year”, she added.

Guests will enjoy complimentary appetizers and wine while getting to know one another. Every woman who attends will receive a free gift, and the event will feature a brief speaking program with special guests including RI Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea. The celebration is open to women across the state and men who would like to attend as well.
