Smithfield COVID-19 Response Update – May 21, 2021

May 21, 2021

Dear Residents, Businesses, and Community Partners:

I hope you are well, and on your way to being fully vaccinated.

Rhode Island’s percent positivity rate this week, as it relates to COVID-19, is 1.5%. Rhode Island has fully vaccinated nearly 60% of its population, administering over 1,105,514 vaccines (523,474 fully vaccinated).

A reminder that to be considered fully vaccinated, you are two weeks past your second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or two weeks past your one dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

The state lifted its mask mandate for those who are fully vaccinated. However, masks are still required in certain settings. Please be patient and understanding of various business restrictions. The state also updated its re-opening guidelines
