COVID-19 Vaccine

I Got My Covid-19 Vaccine! sticker

Locally, we are transitioning our weekly clinics to provide 2nd doses to all of our 65+ population that has received their 1st dose through our Smithfield Clinic. Unfortunately at this time, the Town is not being allocated any additional doses of vaccines as the vaccination model transitions to large vaccination sites and the use of pharmacies. We will be maintaining our waitlist in the event that additional supply becomes available, but strongly suggest that you use one of the available sites listed below to get vaccinated. If you are on the Town’s waitlist and have received your vaccine from an alternate site (pharmacy or State), please contact us at 233-1010 to have your name removed.

As a reminder, Rhode Islanders who are 60 to 64 years of age and those who are 16 to 64 with specific underlying health conditions are eligible for vaccinations. New appointments at state-run sites will be added to VaccinateRI.org on Tuesdays and Fridays.

There are several options for eligible Rhode Islanders to be vaccinated:

  1. State Sites: Register for a vaccine at Vaccinate RI or call (844) 930-1779. These vaccination sites will be located at the Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence and the Sockanosset Cross Road site in Cranston for eligible individuals by appointment. Additional locations will be announced in the coming weeks.
  2. Pharmacies (CVS and Walgreens): They are accepting reservations to eligible individuals by appointment only at select retail pharmacies. You can visit CVS (800-746-7287) and Walgreens websites to schedule an appointment.
  3. Register for a Lifespan Clinic: Lifespan Vax.

For Smithfield residents who are homebound, please feel free to contact the town to register for our waitlist (please note that you are homebound) and our COVID team will work to accommodate you. Additionally, the RI Department of Health has created a survey to gather information for those unable to leave their home to receive a vaccine. If you are unable to leave home to receive a COVID-19 vaccination, or are the healthcare provider or family caregiver of someone who is homebound, please inform RIDOH through the following form: Homebound Vax.

Our COVID Team and myself have been constantly working with state officials to obtain additional supply for our residents. Should the Town be given additional doses of the vaccine we will continue to make it our priority to vaccinate every interested Smithfield resident.
